Our story · one family, one hill
First the
family,
then the wine
My name is Giorgio Brunozzi. My family has always been at Colle Arfuso, and wine has always been made here: first for our own table, then — from 2005 — with our name on the label.
The cellar is built into my grandparents’ old house. When you walk in you are not visiting a company: you are stepping into a story that is still going. From the yard you can see the whole valley — and hear the voices in the kitchen: mamma Fiorella is almost always at the stove.
This is not a commercial operation — it's a family inviting you into their world.★★★★★

Colle Arfuso
In order of appearance
My mother Fiorella taught me the line that became our manifesto: live and make things with loving care. My father Giuseppe knows this land like the back of his hand. Benedetta, my wife, backs me up and — above all — puts up with me: she is a vet, and she brought Grappa and Tappo with her. And Pietro, for now, is practising running between the rows.

The story, by date
Always.
Then, for real.
The wine of the house
At Colle Arfuso my family has always made wine. Not to sell it: to drink it, to offer it, to be there. The farmhouse, the vineyard, the olive trees — all of it was here before us.
The winery is founded
We set up the business and start signing what we make. Not a starting point: a point of responsibility.
The first Passito: 750 bottles
The crisis sends the price of grapes through the floor. “Grapes spoil. Wine doesn’t.” I decide to make wine instead of selling grapes: out comes the first Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Passito, 750 bottles, numbered by hand. We still number them that way, bottle by bottle.
Pietro arrives
In December my son Pietro is born — the same name as grandpa Pietro, the one who would taste other people’s wines and say: “This one’s a bit thin.” He was comparing them, of course, to Sagrantino.
Converting to organic
The vineyard and the olive grove begin the conversion to organic: certification expected in 2028. Not for the label — for the land we will leave to Pietro.
The manifesto — three verbs, no slogans
01 I welcome.
02 I listen.
03 I transform.
I welcome whoever arrives the way you welcome someone into your home: with no script. I listen to the vine and give it only what it needs — growing without forcing is a choice. I turn the grapes, the olives and the days into something that lasts. And I leave everything better than I found it: the land, the time, and — I hope — whoever passes through here.
Our signature · from the beginning
A family
embrace
At Colle Arfuso we welcome you with a family embrace. Every meeting here is one of a kind, like every bunch of grapes born of old vines fed by different seasons.
We are the keepers and the interpreters of this living land and of the people who pass through it: we listen to nature as it changes, and to whoever arrives with new questions. Because identity is born precisely in change — like a river, which stays itself only because the water keeps moving.
It is in that flow — of time, of wine, of relationships — that real connections are made, memories ripen, and experiences change you.
With a family embrace,
Giorgio Brunozzi
Stories are
best told out loud
Everything you have read here, I tell better out among the rows. With the jeep warming up, a glass in your hand and the questions arriving on their own.
